starting new server any tips?

well ive been out of the private server game for a wile ive made servers in the past im just looking to do it better this time then times in the past any tips?

• Make your server original, give plenty of custom content to keep old players there, and to attract new players to your server.
• Give rewards for Voting to advertise the server, but try to make a system where it couldn't be abused.
• If you're going to be offering donation gear, try not to make it too powerful as it will cause new players to leave.
• Hire plenty of non-power hungry staff members (Developers, GMs). This will cause your server to look like it is very active in development.
• Try to fix as many bugs as possible.
• Be as professional as possible (Hire fluent English/<insert native language here> speakers to "player-support" staff positions)
• HAVE FUN - NOBODY WANTS A GRUMPY SERVER OWNER

If you're making a Blizzlike realm, focus on fixing bugs and scripting bosses instead of creating custom content.

Be fluent in English.. Seriously, nothing is more frustrating and annoying than private servers where the owner doesn't use capitals and has millions of spelling/grammar errors. That means an instant quit for me.

Do exactly as Mimic said. Just make your server unique, and add new content as time goes on to attract more players.

@Aldun: You can't just tell someone to speak fluent English. It's not easy for foreign people to speak English, ya know.

1.Try thinking of something new and unseen, like doing an event in a zone that almost no-one has ever seen and can't be accessed in the original game.

3. Just an idea, organize a raid on GM island (with you as the endboss)

By my experince most players prefer instant 80 pvp
*Fix WG (if its fix able) that would be huuuuge and get alot of players
*make a goal for everyone nothing more boring than a server where you start with relentless and wrathfull cost 20k and when you have wrathfull GG what now?
*NO DONORS make donating for mount, morph, fun items
