Planning On Buying Server (QUESTIONS) NEED URGENT HELP

Hello, everybody.
I am planning on buying a World of Warcraft private server, but i'm somewhat unsure and I have many questions. My dream is to make my server a WHOLE DIFFRENT GAME.
I'm planning on making new zones, and free-world PVP with guards there to protect noobs. I am pretty advanced in C++ and would be willing to edit some files to change my server into my dream game, but I'm not even sure if that's possible, and even if it is, i have other questions.

1. Is it possible to modify the game as I previously stated?
2. What are the chances i'll get caught and sued by blizzard?
3. How many players may join If I create such a server?
4. How hard will the modifying be?
5. Could I add custom classes and races, etc.?

6. Is this even worth it? IS there another game that is easier to do this and more stable or legal? I'm just interested in creating my own server being able to make it sort of my own, and adding things like server-wide pvp etc.

I dont want to be one of those servers that starts you off with 1,000 gold and level 80, I want to actually develop my server into a respectable game.

Yes it is possible to do what you said; Have Free For All PvP, ReVamping Zones and other things, as well as guards protecting 'noobs'.

2. What are the chances i'll get caught and sued by blizzard?

Unless you are making people "pay to play" on your server and have thousands if not millions playing it, your chance of getting sued is pretty slim as there are thousands of private servers going around atm.

3. How many players may join If I create such a server?

I would say ALOT because you are changing the game, doing many revamps, it looks pretty great when you explained it, tbh.

4. How hard will the modifying be?

Well you may need to edit some DBC's to allow certain things as well as alot of core edits to allow certain specific things such as free for all PvP as well as custom races and classes ( which can be done in the database).

5. Could I add custom classes and races, etc.?

Yes, as stated above. But you would need to change an exsisting race and or class such as a dwarf priest or gnome warrior. You can add custom trainers with specific spells to that specific race or class you created.

Well here are a few quick guides;

Custom Classes and Trainers-

When creating a custom class, all you really are doing is changing the starting characters spells and creating a custom trainer to reflect those changes. Create a custom NPC, with the display and name that goes with the custom class, and then in the database in the trainer table, add a new entry with the NPC ID, Spell ID, cost, etc. You can in game and search for spells and spell ids there with the GM command; .lookup spell SPELLNAME as well as go to thottbot and wowhead to look up spells.

Custom Races -

With custom races, all your doing is changing the display ID of that particular race to another one such as goblins, naga, or even worgen. It can be done in the database in the playercreate_info table under display.
