    one noob is going to run a LAN server,let's help him!!!

    I have a LAN with 2 PCs and I just want to run a server in one of them and play with my brother( not with anyone else! ). I don't want to make my server public, just want to run it on my LAN.
    My question is: why should I install Apache, MySQL, etc. in order to connect one
    PC( just one ) to another via LAN?
    In other words: am I able to play WoW with my brother without this applications and this ugly methods that one should do to make his/her server public and online?!:confused:

    and sorry for my poor English ( God brought me down in Middle East )

    You don't need Apache for your LAN realm, but you do need MySQL for the server to function.

    Also, when you make your server public only for LAN, you don't need to follow the portions of the guide that tell you to port forward.

    Nope not port forward then, but still need to change realmlist settings to match localhost.

    I Would suggest using ArcEmu. Very easy for beginners. Answer to your first question, MSQL is a need. Apache not as much.

    Go for trinitycore. It has the most features and contrary to popular belief, it is SO EASY to set up.

    Here's a quick little guide on what to do;

    Open your database with a database browser (heidisql, navicat, etc)

    go to the realmd database

    go to the realmlist table

    find the address column and change whatever is in there (127.0.0.1 or Localhost) to your Internal IP (LAN IP)

    If you're playing on LAN, thats ALL you need to do!

    It has the most features? Could you perhaps tell me why I would choose TrinityCore above ArcEmu? Because if Trinity is indeed better, I think I'm going to switch. :P
