    [MySQL] Error installing

Hello, i was making a wow private server, and i was using a guide on how to compile a server. I got qutie far into the guide and i found it quite interesting tbh, but when it got to the point where i needed to make a database and connect to the MYSQL server i thought shi-t.

    i used the guide: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/ascent...te-server.html

Every time i install MYSQL it never works, i get to the last bit and the service just doesnt start, ive been here for around 4 hours installing and uninstalling, i have even tried deleting the MySQL Service and installling again.

Anyone have any ideas? I wana go big on this private server, but i cant without this shitty MySQL. I Have a feeling its there side not mine because ive never actualy been able to install Mysql on nay computer in like my life :P

    Please comment. thx

Uninstall the mySQL server fully, restart your computer and then try to install it again. Also tag your thread correctly, e.g: [MySQL] Error installing

It might be your trying to use x64 on a 32bit system or something. :/ I have no idea if restarting comp didn't fix it.

Some of the guides on here can be a little confusing. First of all I'd go to the source and try their way of building the server by going to Arc's wiki. They have everything you need to make a server. Arcwiki it's also TONS easier than to follow someone else's guide (trust me I spent like a week trying to use someone else's guide and it took me a day with arc's wiki).

2nd, there is a huge thread on here with TONS of answers to questions you might have. The guide is pretty good although, it is missing some things, but with the 30ish pages of QnA following you're bound to find your answer there somewhere.

    Good luck ^.^

Xampp is just a portable version of MySQL; it's what the repacks use when it says there is a SQL server included. Xampp also has webhosting, FTP and email services as well as php etc. You should be able to remove what you don't want and set MySQL to a service through the control pannel (it will automatically start up if as a service). Hope it is a work around that you can use since MySQL is playing up.
