    Visual Issues

So I'm scripting teh Lich King 100% blizzlike in Lua. :3
I've got everything working so far, including edges being destroyed and movie playing at end etc. The only thing I'm having issues with is the visual for when The Lich King blows up the room.

As you can see in the screenshot when I cast the following spell:
Quake - Spell - World of Warcraft I will kneel on the ground (Lich king puts sword in ground) and lines will go to all nearby neutral creatures that simulate the visual. Unfortunatly no matter what factions etc I use I can't get this to work with a NPC doing it. The closest I have come to get this working is that when the Lich King is hostile and casts it, the visual will go to the players instead of the creatures. :/

Any ideas as to how to get this working would be helpful.

Well.. that looks like a legendary fight BUT.

Is there NO way in lua to specify what to cast the spell on? I mean i know there is, but cant you specify what, and then it might go to them? How are you defining the attack?

You could always do some hacky sort of setting, like make the 'invis' NPCs have a specified weird amount of mana, like 9999999 or something, then make the script select all npcs in range with more than 9999999 mana, and then cast. Meh, idk. Just an idea, haven't really looked at the lich king and how it works

    Not plausible at all.

He said the spell finds all neutral NPCs for the visual effect. That would imply it's implemented on client-side.

@Stoneharry: Perhaps it means neutral (or friendly) from the perspective of the caster. Try making the dummy units the same faction as the Lich King. That's my best guess.

For example, the spell acts the same way as Arcane Explosion does. It can not be cast on other people via FullCastSpellOnTarget and does stuff from the unit who cast it.
Upon casting the spell, the kneel emote will play (hence sword being put in ground by Lich King) and the visual should go to nearby creatures that react with the caster.
Testing this as myself, it works fine from me -> neutral creatures as shown in the screenshot.
Testing this as the lich king -> lines do not go to the creatures.

Eradicator, I've tried experimenting with that, but nothing seems to cause it to do it. :/ I even tried setting The Lich King to faction 2 (horde) and then have him cast it (as it works for me obviously) but nothing happens. The only result I have got is when The Lich King is faction 21 (hostile) the visual will go to players instead of the neutral creatures, which is what led me to the conclusion factions control it.

Is it something majorly wrong I'm doing? Or is it simple getting the right faction combination.

According to the Spell.dbc field 92 and 95 are respectively 22 and 7. These fields stand for m_implicitTargetA and m_implicitTargetB. It might be that you need faction 22, but it's just a wild guess.

Faction 22 and 7 did not work. But I spawned two rabbits and spent a bit testing different factions and getting the rabbits to cast it as different factions. :3 Factions 1 and 2 reacted with each other (Alliance and Horde) which led me to the conclusion that it will work if the npc's will fight each other. Root the invisible triggers and have lich king cast, use 814 for quakes (argent dawn) so friendly to players but hostile to lich king. All good. Ty for anyone who inputted.
