What he suggested is the range at which the Monster can attack. For you to be able to attack, you can increase his scale, which results in his hitbox becoming larger?

On trinitycore iv'e noticed it works perfectly , you can attack Kj while outside of the circle area even though his scale is exactly the same on arcemu you have to go in very close to attack with Melee based skills.

Displayid and scale effects npc's combat range, I used to know a displayid that you could hit from anywhere on the map at scale 1.

As Stone said, there is a displayid that allowed it. Not for him to attack you from whereever, but for you to attack him.

Well.. I don't know how it's handled in the core. You could try having on player enter world -> if map = (whatever you want) then set the scale of the player to 0.5, and also have mob scales as 0.5. That way the combat distance would be less and players wouldn't notice much of a difference (or would they?). Just need to mess around a little.
