My biggest concern is it being too large for enough player combat, and that helps immensely for players to stay.
What i had planned was to create a large island in the middle of many smaller islands. The large island would consist of capturable nodes that would award players with whatever I would choose as a currency. The smaller islands would have guild keeps that could be attacked when enough players are online to assault. The keeps would be able to be pimped out with NPCs to protect it and such. This would all have to be put in to a patch of course. I was planning to start with a smaller version where i would put nodes around Dalaran and players fight for control of that, then they decide they like the idea/experience and download the patch.
On wowlegacy they have "Outland Wars" but the outlands are so large you couldnt find the combat anywhere.
If you can get it goin, get a good site, advertise it, and its fun people will find it and realize what a great concept and game experience it creates. =)
