    330 branch, mangos git

been searching for very long now how to make my 3.2.2a server allow 3.3 clients

got answer from mangos forums that its not worth it, that i should just update

but i tried looking into that also, loads of info about wrong stuff EVERYWHERE, i tried updating to newest master branch which has 8996 newest rev, but then people with 3.3 get wrong version when trying to connect

(newest ad.exe makes server no longer boot up)

so could someone do give me a REAL answer how to update to 330 branch because when i try myself it got less rev files and another folder with another 2 sql files i got no idea on if i shall execute or not

git link used: mangos's mangos at 330 - GitHub

    330 branch, mangos git

Is there a way to change the client accepted? Like in arc emu - If so change that to allow newer clients.

Could you post your config files in [code] tags please?

    Thanks.

The option to allow clients is not located in the config files on a mangos server. At least I have not been able to find them.

It is found in the source code. File AuthCodes.h

    Code:
    Code removed
You have to do some heavy editting of the source to allow 3.3.0 on a 3.2.2a build. Editting Opcodes.h and Opcodes.cpp aswell as the AuthCodes.h and a few others.

In which case you would either need to do some heavy editing, or just wait for a new release.

Either way it will take some time.

Why spam the forum with a new thread when there's already one about exactly the same topic? http://www.mmowned.com/forums/emulat...-0-mangos.html I replied there.

You're right. I'm sorry, my comment was not really thoughtful. I'll try to make up for it by posting stuff about my installation. Maybe it helps.
    - I'm using the 330 branch, commit 0b668ee7880f495959846d98e8972d392cec65ae, Thu Dec 17 03:55:33 2009 +0300
    - The installation was done when 3.2.2 was out, with the standard SQL database, no modifications.
    - I've since gradually applied all SQL updates in the correct order.
    - When I built 330 yesterday I deleted all old DBC and Maps, did a fresh extraction with the Linux version of the "ad" tool and copied them into mangos

I will do a completely fresh installation later and post the exact steps I've used here.

My MaNGOS installation runs on GNU/Linux. Uploading the DBC/Maps is pointless because I did nothing more than extract them from the current WoTLK 3.3.0a installation with the standard "ad" tool. They're 430 MiB in size. I can upload checksums of all the files though.
