Need everything I guess

Hi, I have a big question that I am really hoping someone can answer

Let me start with, I already have a server so I have some knowledge. I started w/ 1.1.2 Antrix (or was it 1.2.1, it was so long ago :lol and thru a lot of trouble, I updated it to 2.3.3 Ascent vers. 3.8 but it has problems...I believe DB related (items that can't be sold, Hand icon disappearing at times, etc.).
So, what I am asking is, Can anyone tell me where I can get a new "good" (I know that is subjective) DB as close to retail as possible. I don't need custom malls & all that , A new EMU that can be used with 3.0.8 or later & WotLK (meaning which is best, I only want this server for myself, no one else will play it so no "load" issues)?

This will be a "start from scratch" project, I don't even want to try merging the toons & stuff I already have, it's just not worth the hassle

Now, what I have:
Navicat 7.2.7 (with everything updated to version 8 but it had a bad .exe)
MySQL 5.1
TortoiseSVN 1.6.1
Visual Studio 2008 (C++ 9.0 Express)

I have some basic understanding of how to compile but not great at it so I would need some instruction pages possibly.

I also have no problem with using different programs, But I already know how to use what I already have so I prefer to keep 'em if I can :wink0:

Since this was written, I have made an ArcEMU server w/ WhyDB. MAN I am baffled by all the bad quests & such...Most of them are the same damn bugs from when I made a 2.4.3 server! Depressing.

:laff: I know Antrix wasn't until 1.12, which is where I started. And I stuck with antrix until it changed to Ascent.
So, Your guide shows ArcEMU, last I heard it wasn't 3.x.x/WotLK stable...so are you saying that has changed? And what about Mangos? since I wrote this thread, I have been hearing it is way more stable for WotLK as long as you don't want a High pop on the server & that it had a more complete DB. or is that all wrong & I should just stick with what's above?

I did take a look BTW, and it seems very complete & if I go that way, it looks like it'll be a breeze.

*EDIT* Well, since it appears no one else is going to answer, I have done everything in your guide though I don't have the DBC or Maps yet because I don't have WotLK installed yet & can't extract them! So, once I get those, I'll let you know how it went....

O.K., I followed the guide you made moonblade0421 except that I compiled Arc using their wiki 'cause I missed a step on yours (I already had visual studio, so I missed the "copy these file to" part) and it messed me up
anyway, it runs now & looks good so thanks
