Way to massmail all players?

Is there a way you can send a massmail an ingame mail to all players on your server?

There is no such command ingame. You'd have to write either a script hooked to the chat event to catch the command then execute the proper query(s) on the DB or modify the core and insert your own GM command to do the same.

I personally am relatively new to C++ although its rather easy with Java background but i haven't worked out the api for processing the chars so i cant really do it for you =P

Why do you want to mass mail all players? I might be able to find a better solution or figure something out.

This can be done with 3 ways i can think of off the top of my head:

1. PHP Script (probably the easiest)
2. Core Edit (probably the hardest)
3. External DLL script (same as above really)

1. For this one you would just have a php script that let you enter all of your info (subject, body, etc) then do some fancy SQL magic and it would send the mails.

2 and 3.

YOu would have to make a chat hook that would trigger a function that used your config data to execute some queries on the database as well.


If you ask nicely and i am in a good mood i might make a mass mailer tool for ascent, easier than all thse solutions, no mangos tho.

Imho i /agree w/ the above player tho. It would be easier to find another way to get players the info.
