mysql, a core (ArcEMU/mangos/aspire) your choice, visual C++ express (free) and mysql, plus a database of you choise for your Core. also Tortoise SVN to keep up with core updates, database updates and to download the core/db

many guides for this in the guides section, i would reccoment arcemu with Rival DB or WhyDB

    arcemu sux?

mm k, very biast, they are both good emulators. just for arcemu there are more guides available, support available and a larger community, as since this is obviously his first server, this is why i recoomended this. plus if he has used repack before odds are they use ascent commands which is what he will be used to.

Don't.. Whats the point for peoples to play on Bug realm ? Arcemu is suche BUG! Mangos have Much, MUCH less bugs. have lots of blizzlike quests working, spells working, even Shadow Step! (I think it's called something else, i talking about rogue skill that hdie in shadow and strike 4 Times.) . So i recommend Mangos, just for less bugs.
