MYSQL Error 10060

Me and my friend made a wow server, and now I would like to edit the DB. The server is hosted on his computer and it is hamachi. I am connected in hamachi with him.

I put ascent for the connection name

I put his hamachi IP for the IP address

I put root for the username

and I put ascent for the password.

It works for him, but it doesn't work for me.

Every time I keep getting the 10060 error.

I use navicat.

Its saying that it couldn't connect to the MySQL server. Are you sure you have MYSQL up and running?

Well of course, because he is editing it, and the server is up, because I am playing on the server currently. Do I have to have MYSQL as well?
