Hi folks. Yes, I know this board says "NO questions here" by it, but so does every other emulation discussion board so I don't know where the hell MMOwned want's people asking this stuff now. Haven't been around here in a while.
I've been using ArcEmu for months, successfully launched a 2.4.3 BC, went public, and we've been building our server since. So I got my hands into WotLK recently, compiled the latest core yesterday which was rev 1985, and loaded up NCDB's 47th rev.
Here's the problem - please know something about creating custom portals with ArcEmu realms or don't respond to this!
Just like I did with many portals on my 2.4.3 realm, I proceeded to create custom portals for my shopping mall and other areas on my new Wrath of the Lich King realm. I set the GPS coordinates for the portals in teleport_coords, then take the spell ID # I edited in that table and plug it into the spell ID for each portal game object to use in gameobject_names.
This is what I did with my 2.4.3 realm per several guides out there and it worked wonderfully. On my WotLK realm though, when some people go through my portals, they FALL through the FLOOR to their deaths when they come out of the portal!
I'll tell you guys a few other things too:
- I'm not a total amateur at this stuff, I DO have my 100% correctly extracted Vmaps (and regular maps) folder in the same folder as my realm
- I tried setting the GPS coords where the portals exit to be a bit above the ground where the player is supposed to come out - this didn't change anything
- I can't actually get the problem to happen with my client, so I've never seen the issue, but my GM's continue to tell me about it... I have to wonder if it's like, people with really crappy computers, their game doesn't load the floor in time maybe or something?
I'm just totally bewildered here though, and I want help because I hate using NPC teleporters and I'm not going to try to script one if the same thing is just going to happen anyway.
Anyone have any ideas? :yuck:
