Mind rephrasing that, sort of confused on what your asking
He's asking if, in the process of developing an emulation framework, the official server engine is debugged, then later recompiled in a low-level language.
I don't believe it is, but I really have no way of being certain.
No, I am wondering how do they know what to write, do they decompile world of warcraft and use its strings, would that take forever to figure everything out.
You know what to write by disassembling the client for things such as opcodes, update fields, things such as CRC, etc. Then you have to make your own handlers, get the correct ports, encryptions,The rest is just playing the game and sniffing the packets I suppose.
Anyone else here wanna help
Why? Clain got it right
