Is it possible to run 2 different emulators on one pc with out them interfering with each other? I would not be running both at the same time. I have mangos and would like to experiment with using an ArcEmu one.
Thanks

I ran Arcemu on my Funrealm and Ascent on my blizz since their both almost the same code it worked but IDK for Mangos ;(
As I said, I have Moffeman's 3.0.3 wotlk which is mangos. I would like to also have a 2.4.3 w tbc funserver.
One from http://www.mmowned.com/forums/emulat...te-server.html
Anyways, my question is can I have a wow folder patched to 3.0.3 working with mangos AND also have another wow directory patched to 2.4.3 working with Arcemu or Ascent.
Someone please help me out. I want to add another without messing up my current setup.
Well I think if you were a brilliant C++ scripter you could re script a lot of the core files and hook it on with it working but a bit buggy.
Or i'm fairly certain if you knew what you were doing you could get the 2 logonservers to run on different ports and use different realmlist and so in theory have 2 emulaters (mangos and ascent in this case) on the same computer. As I said though it would have to be completly different ports and realmlists.
Although go with what Gastric said because it's really not worth the trouble to go through anything to just get that to work.
So I can't have 2 different type if emulators on my pc if I only run one of them at a time. There is no way to keep the configs separate? If that is true can I find a mangos 2.4.3 tbc and have 2 separate install folders for wow like I stated earlier? I would only run one of them at a time if need be.
Thanks and I really appreciate the help
Edit: BTW stoneharry, I would have 2 separate folders of wow installed(different versions and of course the repack folders would be separate. Also I would only run one realm at a time. Is it the configs for mysql that I would have a problem with? If they are not on at the same time couldn't they use the same ports? Just trying to understand.
thanks again.

Yes you can run 2 separate emulators on your server. And yes you can have them running at exactly the same time, they will just need to utilize different ports (realmlist port, world port, etc). You can have as many running at once as your server resources will allow.
Thanks guys. I have both installed separately now. A mangos 3.0.3 wotlk and an arc-emu 2.4.3 tbc. They run good. I didn't plan on getting them both on the same realmlist. Thanks for the responses though.
The answer is yes. You can run both of them without interfering. With other people connecting to them you would probably have to create a host name. I have ran Mangos and ArcEmu on the same server. Lags the hell out of your computer and is not suggested. If you're dying to do it though go for it. It's a pain to get right though.![]()
