how to get a new db?

I was just compiling a new arcemu rev and so on. When I finished I thought everyhting was ok. But then I start arcemu-world.exe and I get errors for like spellfixes and checked the db and I see all my old stuff from the other server I had before I compiled is still there. I searched google abit and tried to find a solution, my best idea was that I somehow create a new db. Does anyone know how to do this?
How to create a new database.
Do I have to completly remove my old db or something?
I made a new db for the compiled arcemu. So I had 2 Databases. But as the compiled arcemu had some updates. The tables wasn't suposed to be the same. But somehow the new database I made (for the new compiled arcemu) was a copy from the old. With all the custom stuffs there also.

Can somebody explain to me how to get a new db? or give me a link to a guide?
I couldn't find anything when I searched google.

Oh and by the way Im using the arcemu rev. 1562.

Download the latest database, e.g. WhyDB

You need to backup all your custom items, creatures, spawns, quests, vendors, etc...
Once your sure its all backed up in an sql file, backup the database to an sql too, just incase.
Empty the database of all its tables, then reinstall the new database.

Once you've done the new database put all the custom things back into the database.
You may have to change the sql files a little if the old database was an old structure.

I would advise making custom tables for custom creatures/items, theyre much easier to backup and its easier to update the database when they have their own table.

I think thats what you needed?

Update your configurations to match your Database settings.
Backup/Dump your Database into an SQL file or w/e.
Update your Database to the latest releases/structure.
    Test your server works.
    Enjoy.

    ?

I Have also been a bit confused about this, well i guess more "nervous" to do something with being absolute sure that i am doing it correctly. Do We already have a guide around to do this with Navicat? Then again I know it's most likely so simple why mnake one right? lol

we use mangos, I went into Navicat and i right clicked realmd and then chose Dump sql file , chose to save to my desktop when it was finsihed it then had two buttons to "start" Or Close" I chose Close. So I assume that that database is now saved? backup right ?

Now iF something Happens like recently all our characters went missing and i can't figure out how to get them back, i didn't have a backup ,

How do I then take the file and put it in .. to get the backup data. ?

In Navicat there should be a button to "restore from SQL dump".
I use SQLyog and thats the option it gives me. ^^

I also make an actual backup database too, named "backup". I copy my database to it every week or so. Its really handy if you mess a table up by accident, you just copy it back over from the backup database without having to mess around with sql files etc...
