[Question] Mangos OR Ascent OR alternative?!

Hey All. Im Wondering... What Should i use for my server.
Its Gonna be a MAJOR funserver/PVP
and im not very experienced with these things. i tried before and failed.

i need the easyest one and a link to the BEST guide for ALL of the things for my PS.

Firstly, for a funserver, don't go Mangos. Ok, now thats sorted you need to choose between a lot, all of them claiming there the best.

Aspire,
ArcEmu,
Ascent,
and a few others, but they are the most well known.

Just by browsing the forums, you will find hundreds of guides and releases on things for Ascent/ArcEmu, (all normaly compatable with one and other including Aspire) which you can use for your server. You say you don't know much, so I advise you firstly, find a repack you like, read the comments to make sure it works, then try and install and use it. If your able to run it on localhost, experiment with the commands, have a look around. Now go into your database, look at the tables, look at the data, most of it is guess work, you don't need guides to understand it. Try editing some data, have some fun.
Now you know the basics of how the server works in game. Now you need to try and compile your own server, theres a thousand guides out there, search or look on the first few pages. If you get that working, start learning Lua (which you could do in a few days) then if you really want to learn C++, but thats not required, just gives you more options (e.g. you don't need to know C++ to compile your own server, even though people say you do).
