    - Need some huge help here! With WoW Server -

    Hey guys, ty for helping I'm a wow server technician in Froseke LAN Company. We create LAN's when everyone can come and play on our servers.. And I could need some help about hosting a wow server through a switch, is it the same to host it thru a router on LAN? Do I need to open ports or something like that :S I've never tried to host it thru a switch! I need some answers now! The LAN is next week! Plz help +rep for those who can come with any explination!

    Well to be quite honoust I don't have a clue what your on about, I thought Lan was local area connection which means you could only host it on the people working on the same network as you, or if you use hamachi as one huge network. Not sure, sorry. If you can try and explain what you mean :P

    Yeah, when you host it off a router, you have to open up ports.

    Would a switch requires opening ports? As it's no firewall in those stuff . I would guess on plug it in and go, as you hosting without a router.

    Just plug and go!
    If its just an basic switch you wont ned any port forwarding and stuff...
