[Question/Help] Database.

Me and my friend just started a server, and we where wondering if i could access his database and if someone could tell me/show me how?

Well you can. But you'd have to open a port for your friend to get into your database

If you have Navicat installed. Go into Manage Users. Click addd. Fill in all the stuff, for host leave it blank. Press ok, set his permissions, and click "Set". Wait like 5 minutes and then get him to connect to your DB with the info that you made.

OK so like forward the port 3306 or w/e that port is? And im using HeidiSQL.

i have no clue on HeidiSQL but i think there same ports not sure..

i did all that, but my friend went to open the db, said she couldn't access it? ideas why?

Hmmmm, you must have done something wrong.. or that port isnt open. i have has someone use Team Veiw and did it for me, what he did for the host was @% and had them put in my ip address... lol

When you set up MySQL did you check enable connections from remote machines? and there is an option to make a firewall rule for port 3306 when you set up MySQL.

Also if its running off of your PC makesure you have it open in windows firewall
