friends can connect but i can't

    Im doing panex 6.4.2

I used the youtube tutorial and a friend who had success walked me through it. It works for any of my friends who connect however i cannot. I can log in as default admin however it never reaches the character list. It stops at "Connected"

There is a topic on this forum that suggests to modify my "hosts" IP in System 32.

The topic suggested a fix but was not spacific enough for me. I cannot find this file and do not understand what to change.

    Any thoughts?

friends can connect but i can't

It should be in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Drivers\etc\ file, its called hosts.

then just add what they say

    Also post your configs please.

I edited my "hosts" file server source to point at my hamachi IP and it still would not conect. Upon opening the game and entering UN/Pass the box stops at connected. My friends still say it works fine for them.

    I did

it connects and identifies the server i set. (as to say i can see the server that i names "Movie Server") it simply won't access it.

and again, all my friends can also see it and access it. They ahve made chatacters and logged in. I get stopped after i input my Username and password between that and actual log in. it stops at connected. If i click cancle it shows me the server list. Same effect if i try it from there.

I made the modifications. It still stops at "connected" when i hit cancel it shows me 2 servers.

    "Movie Server; Local"
    "SomeRealm"

I tried changint the ; to a : and all it did was show "Movie Server Local"

Still no access to the character list.

I tried it with my system32 "hosts" file in 2 states. one with 127.0.0.1 Localhost and as my hamachi IP as Server source.

It simply wont access Character list. Friends still say they have No Probs.

after uninstalling and reinstalling the panex repack, it still has the same effect.

is it possible this is a Windows Vista issue and i need to be more spacific with ports? maybe the character list port? Database port? anything? I've tried all the combinations i could.

It Still only makes it to "Connected" and i can still see the realm/realms in the Realm List.

and thanks for helping. this is a pretty big project and im stopped cold here til a solution is found.

Vista causes so many problems with emulators its unbelievable Usually its either what Fireblast said or your hosts file...Dunno if vista is the one to blame this time(As always try running everything as admin and make sure you got everything right)
