What am I missing?

I used to mess around with Ascent quite a few months ago and didn't have too many issues, but recently I've done a fresh checkout from SVN and tried to setup my DB correctly but it seems I might be missing something.

I first tried just importing the .sql files that were checked out with Ascent itself. I assume that this will just setup tables for everything without actually inserting any data? That gave me the result of every time I tried to create a new character, I would get disconnected.

Next I checked out WhyDB and ran it's setup, and imported everything, that seemed to work, however when I try to actually enter the game after creating a new char, it would just sit there on the loading screen with a full loading bar and do nothing at all. Even the server windows didn't give any errors even with full logging on.

Next I tried a checkout of NCDB and imported all it's data and now I get disconnected again while trying to create a new character. Again, no real errors in the console either. I did notice that with this DB I get several errors during server startup mentioning things like prospectingloot, disenchantingloot and pickpocketingloot data could not be loaded.

Does anyone have any clues on what I'm doing wrong? I'd really like to start toying around with this again, but these problems are driving me insane.

Try downloading Arcemu - svn://arcemu.info/svn/arcemu or
Aspire - svn://svn.aspiredev.org/AspireCore They are the current emulators of choice aside from Mangos but i dont know the Mangos SVN


Ascent isnt a updated emulator as far as i know and almost everyone uses on of those three emulators nowadays..

Well someone's been updating ascent. I've been updating every now and again and getting changes. I'm really looking for code because I'm hoping to toy around with code rather than just server setups etc.

Anyone have any information on ascent?
