Making Ascent Public The easy way [Non-Hamachi]

Hello again MMowned, ive seen alot of guides to make servers public and people always get problems. This method has always gotten my server public. Its simple and easy.

Step 1

find out your ip address

http://www.whatsmyip.org/

Step 2

Open realm.conf and change 127.0.0.1 t your ip address

For Example:

<Realm1 Name = "Your Server Name Here"
        Address = "Your Ip Address Here:8129"
        Icon = "PVP"
        Colour = "1"
        Population = "1.0"
        TimeZone = "1">

Step 3

Forwarding prots [Hard part]

Now this is soo important to make your server public.
You need to forward:

3724 - 3724
80 - 80 [Only for a website if u want to host one]
3306 - 3306
8129 - 8129
8093 -8093
6112 - 6112
6881-6999
3036 - 3036
8050 -8050

All on TCP and UDP

Step 4
Go to dyndns.com and create an account. Then crate a dynamic ip. Where it says enter your ip palce the ip that you got from What's My IP Address? Your IP is 206.71.153.240

Step 5


Open my computer or my documents and go to:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

and open the file hosts with notepad, it should look like this:

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.

# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should

127.0.0.1  localhost

change to this

127.0.0.1 [your dynamic ip ]
[your ip address] [your dynamic ip]

For example

127.0.0.1 cityofdarkenss.ath.cx
86.123.456.789 cityofdarkness.ath.cx


Thats ip, start your server up and give the dynamic ip to your friends.

1.I can talk all I want this is a forums. 2. I like 2d im using his repack atm and 3. Just save it to a diff folder then copy it. after you copy it delete the original

floor2ceiling there must be that path otherwise you would not be able to go on a private server non publicly i have replace the quote with the correct link as it was broken before

aces93 make sure your firewall has allowed ascent/logonserver to be used
