not working for me.... I tried exactly the steps u said and for some reason when i overwrote the old ItemExtendedCost.dbc file with the new one it totally took all the extended costs off all items in the game... I didnt modify anything except for simply adding the new entry so idk... maybe the structure has been changed recently or something?

Someone please delete this guide. All it does is wipe your items_extendedcost and cause huge problems by ****ing up your DBC file. Multiple people have experienced this. Worst guide ever. Now I have to figure out how to fix non-custom extended costs.

Edit: Re-extract from enUS/enGB in your WoW client as you did when you compiled (reference a compiling guide for details) to get your DBC files. Copy and paste the items_extendedcost.dbc from the new DBC folder into the server's DBC folder and you should be good be back to square 1 with a fresh DBC file.
Or if you still have it laying around, just copy and paste
