I did everything the guide said and when i open logonserver it says access was denied for user , using password "YES" and ascent says main database initialization failed, ne ideas?

hi, i followed the instrucktions step by step. when i get to the last part starting the server i click on logonserver.. when it gets to connecting to mysql on localhost with <root : *********> i get an error that states... connection failed. reason was 'access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' <u sind password: yes> any help would be apriciated thx:wave:

and people who are having the problem with connecting to the database (logon errors) make sure that you named your database ascent and your logon when you installed mysql is root and your password is ascent if it is not let me know what you used and i will let you know where to change it

hello again, sorry for all the questions 1st server. itried running ascen.exe and everything is fine until i says connecting to logon server on '127.0.0.1:8093... then i states connection failed. thx for any help.:confused:

hi, ok nvm mind on the last question.. i erased everything, and re did it. I got everything to work on my comp, but when i try to use the public address ( in the wow wtf, and change the relms ip to my dyndns address it says can conect:confused:.. checked everything many times to make sure everything is correct plz help so my wife can play also...thx

Your wife play on the same network you do? if that is the case then just use your ip of the machine 192.168.x.x instead of your dydns unless you want people outside your network to connect

hi thx for the quick answer... i got everything working except no one can access the server i tried thedns address, my ip address and my external ip address in there realmlist.wtf file and it says that its unable to connect.. thx again

Edit: and what exactly happens when you try to connect? details help alot :P
