[Guide]Making Custom Items/Vendors

hi i was wondering, how can i change an item...... i made a custom item, it works fine, but i needed to make a modification to it, but i cant re-install the file [execute the file again] because... well it wont let me. so what do i do to overwrite the old data with new??
