Catalyst Repack V2.0 in 2-4 easy steps.

Hello Mmowned Users.
Here i have the already made, Catalyst Repack V2.0 There is a guide on this already, but to get it public was not completely clear. So im going to re write it. I take no responsibility for the repack, or the programs used to download it.

Downloads you need.
Mysql
Navicat (i would download the lite version.)
Catalyst Repack v2.0

Cataclysm alpha us client (credits to xel)

Cataclysm alphaGB(Credits to P1raten)


Hamachi (if your going to make your private server live. its the easiest way, and the only way I'm going to actually talk about today.)

Step one.
Ok once you download the repack/extract etc.. You need to make sure your mysql and navicat are up and working correctly. If not, Ill be glad to try and help you if you need it. (if you know how to use other programs, then go ahead i for one have no knowledge in any other two programs but those.)

Step two.
Open Navicat, and make four databases and name them cdb, characters, realmd, and scriptdev2. Then right click and execute the file accordingly to the name. To find those files, they will be in your sql folder, in the repack. If you want to you can do all or a couple at a time, the only one that will take a long time should be cdb.
Once they are done you need to configure the files.

Step three.
If your going to play local host (you and only you) you can go ahead and play right now. If not Go ahead and make sure you download Hamachi. To set up your own network you go to the top of the program, and click network>create network. Remember the password and the name of the network, so your friends can join. (they will need to download Hamachi as well)

Step four.
Now you need to configure your files. Your hamachi ip, and the one your friends will connect to will be The one above your name, or computer name. (next to the little circle with a slash through it power button thing.) Copy it down so you wont have to keep looking at it, like copy and paste. Now go into your catalyst repackV2 folder, you will need to open up mangosd in notepad or your favorite text editing program.

WorldServerPort = 8085
BindIP = "0.0.0.0"

You need to put in your password for mysql into where it says Password, and change the BindIP to your hamachi ip.

Next is Realmd

LoginDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;Password;realmd"
LogsDir = ""
MaxPingTime = 30
RealmServerPort = 3724
BindIP = "0.0.0.0"

Change the password and BindIP
And now Script dev2

ScriptDev2DatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;Password;scriptdev2"

Change the password. AND now you should be set to go.

Now take your hamachi ip, and go into your alpha download of the wow client. and change the realmlist. (located in the data>enUS and open realmlist with your favorite text editing program. Change the first line to read

set realmlist hamachi ip.

(only replace your hamachi ip with your hamachi ip numbers.)

Unfortunatly i dont think you can add accounts, atleast that will connect. I tried but they never connected correctly. But i do know that there are 4 accounts in already, if you wish you can give them all lvl 3 gm powers by going to navicat, realmd and clicking on accounts, a new window should pop up, edit just by clicking the boxes. The passwords are the same as the username, i dont think you should edit those. (if you feel safe doing it, go for it.)

I repeat again, this is not my repack, and i didnt make these programs, im just trying to help those that had the problem i had when i tried to follow the other guide (about the modifing config files.)

The reason i re wrote it, was because i actualy had problems with the other guide. The components of what it is about are the same. But some need more help on it so i went ahead and wrote one up diffrently. I put that on there so people wouldnt tell me its a repost because in a sense i already know it is. even though its not, and i wrote everything in the guide 100% myself. Didnt copy from the other one or anything.

I have everything else worked out except that mangosd.exe closes always after 7 seconds? (intented) and my realm status is offline

hmm. did you edit anything else in your .conf files? i had this problem and so did another mmo user. (reason why i posted this forum to get around that problem lol) Uhm.. thats really the only thing i can think of. if not try reverting what you changed back to 127.0.0.1 and see if it runs. if not its the instalation and id sugest redownloading. it could also be your mysql, navicat has to be the same password as your mysql.

so I'm doing this with 2.5 repack and so far so good. Only thing is when i load the mangosd application I get a ton of "Missing X" for a lot of things. Is that normal? I imagine so since a lot of things are unknown with the Cata database.

I'm having troubles with users. I added on and it's simple not working.

Scelero, for some reason i think they have users locked. just use the premade ones sadly. The missing x are the maps that you dont need.

I don't understand!!! ATM I just want to make an offline server so this is what I did so far:

Installed Cataclysm with client provided
Installed MySQL and NaviCat
Opened mysql and made an account with user:root and no password
I opened my server in navicat and executed all the required SQLs
Went into realmd then acccount and made a wow account - user:root pass:root
NOW WHAT?!?!??!?!?!
When i click on mangosd it says: ERROR:Cannot connect to world database 127.0.0.1;3306;root;mangos;cdb

Pleas help it would be greatly appreciated.

Learn to follow the guide, use mangos as password.

I got it working but i get

SQL: SELECT required_9883_01_mangos_scripts FROM db_version LIMIT 1
query ERROR: Unknown column 'required_9883_01_mangos_scripts' in 'field list'
Table `db_version` have field `required_9826_01_mangos_spell_script_target` but expected `required_9883_01_mangos_scripts`! Not all sql updates applied?


when i try to run the mangosd.exe. If any knows whats wrong please tell me.... I can only run the realmd.exe without any problems.

I have installed the actual program, but the service wont start.
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.
