[Complete] Guide on makeing a 2.4.3 aruemu server

ok this is a chain of posts so to learn more on makeing private servers follow the links at the bottom.

First things first. we need to make our server. I find that making a server with a repack is the easiest way to make one.

they will have all of the files needed. i like to use Ac-web repack 7.8 download here. you will also need to use the latest arcemu here . Now install 7.8 and arcemu onto your desktop (this makes it easy for configs). when you open the folder (should be named AC-web ultamite repack 7. you will see three folders. Ascent, used for the server and configs, Server, with your DBs and MySQL, and tools, which extracts the maps. Go into ascent and erase all of the files. replace them with the files in the arcemu folder. You now have a working world of warcraft 2.4.3 private server! to start it set your realm list to 127.0.0.1 (its in your wow folder). then go to the folder server and you will see bunch of files. find the one that says MySQL (ill go into detail about all of these files in another post). Then go to ascent and start arcemu-loginserver and arcemu-world. open wow and login as admin for TBC and admin2 for non-TBC. the password is the account name.

That in a nut shell is how you set up a 2.4.3 server.

*sigh*. Just did and it didnt work for me. First of all, I do everything you say but when I open up "arcemu-logonserver" and "arcemu-world", the arcemu-logonserver comes up with a red error message that states "connection failed due to: 'access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' <using passwrod: YES> and the arcemu-world aslo comes up with a red error message that states: " connection failed due to: 'access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' <using passwrod: YES> Main database initialization failed. exiting. I then type in the realmlist to "set realmlist 127.0.0.1" when I open "WoW.exe" it says "connecting" then "unable to connect" I am running a windows XP, if you know why this is happeneing i would be very greatful if you would answer. Thanks a bunch

I was having the same problem loading up a server. After realizing that I had recently saw a setup that said "MAKE SURE YOU HAVE .NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 INSTALLED BEFORE CONTINUING"; I updated my .net framework and it fixed the 'access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' problem.

If you haven't already got it fixed, i hope this helps somewhat.

I can't start arcemu-world.exe because everytime it says "Connection failed due to Unknown database whydb. Main database initialisation failed. Exiting".

What database do I have to import and how can I import it?

Download the SVN for WhyDB, and use the tool.

I was having the same problem loading up a server. After realizing that I had recently saw a setup that said "MAKE SURE YOU HAVE .NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 INSTALLED BEFORE CONTINUING"; I updated my .net framework and it fixed the 'access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' problem.

If you haven't already got it fixed, i hope this helps somewhat.

hmm... Already have 3.5, is there only one "version" to 3.5? Maybe I have the wrong one. Im going to try and install it again but I doubt that will do anything. Thanks anyways

ok first things first ranso u didnt tell me how to get on yer server but dont matter now coz u r awsome i finished this yesterday and now am on it-

next you guys i was lookin for a priv server for ages and how to make one nd stuff and it always sed download network 3.5 and i did they never worked coz i think i did someting wrong any ways the 3.5 thing workd just the server but even if uve downloaded it a million times like me ~(LOL)~
download it agen dont care wat u say DOWNLOAD AGEN coz i did i had the same problem so i downloaded agen it worked i finished servers great im all happy XD hope i helped xD

I followed the directions to the letter even when you said to install to the desktop for ease of use.....
DON'T DO THIS
It has to be installed to C:\AC Web Ultimate Repack
Exactly otherwise you get an error when you try to run MySql
You can right click the three files you need to run and send a shortcut to the desktop for ease of use but DO NOT install to the desktop.
BTW Great tutorial! Got me up an running with my own server in minutes!

wait now what...download the 7.8 repack then arcemu and repalce alllllll the ascent files with the arcemu files and you have 2,3 server >..................>???????????????
