How to set up an Alpha WoW server (Pre-beta servers, NOT Wotlk)

Hello. This guide will show you how to run your own wow-alpha server.
The Alpha server is the server that was before the beta servers was released.

Why would you check this out? It contains alot of interesting things such as;

Alpha Kharazan, which itself is reason enough to set up the server.
Old Ironforge (Not the dumbasshall with the throne, but this is what Ironforge looked like years back.)
Isle of Doctor Lapdis
Gillijims Island
Statue of Liberty in STV
Western Plagelands portal
+ alot of places which is edited and modified.

Start by downloading all the files, linked to below. These are the files for the server, and the client. Download them to this location: "C:\Alpha". If this directory doesnt exist, make the folder yourself.

While you are downloading the files, create a new folder named "WoW". It should look like:

C:\Alpha\WoW

When you have downloaded all the files, extract all the files but "AbyssServer.zip", to the WoW folder.

WoW.Alpha.ANi.pt1.zip - FileFront.com
WoW.Alpha.ANi.pt2.zip - FileFront.com
WoW.Alpha.ANi.pt3.zip - FileFront.com
WoW.Alpha.ANi.pt4.zip - FileFront.com
AbyssServer.zip - FileFront.com

When you have done this, locate the "WoW.Alpha.ANi.r00" in the WoW folder you made. Extract it to the same directory as the file itself.

When you have done this, you have prepared the game itself.

Go to "C:\Alpha\" and extract the AbyssServer.zip to the same directory as the AbyssServer.zip file was downloaded to. Should be C:\Alpha\ still.

Go to the "C:\Alpha\WoW\WoW" and create a file named "wow.ses". Open in notepad and type in following:
In the first line, type in: admin
In the second line: password
save.

Now create a shortcut to the "WoWClient.exe".

Copy the shortcut to your desktop, and open properties.
Change the target to "C:\Alpha\wow\wow\WoWClient.exe -uptodate"

In the "C:\Alpha\wow\wow\", create a file named realmlist.wtf
Open in notepad and type in: realmlist localhost.
save.

Go to the AbyssServer folder, and run the "Abyss2.exe"

Go to options, and choose where to start with your character.
Skip the Model and Packet Logging thing. In the Server Info box, type: Localhost.

Now start the server. Run the shortcut you copied to your desktop, and click "OK" at the popup window. At the login screen, click Change server, and choose Abyss.

Hit the login button, and woila! You are now playing on the official warcraft Alpha server.

When you are ingame, open the concole and type in "speed 1-59", or "swimspeed 1-59".
To open concole, press ö, ø or search for the button on your keyboard. This differs from every country.

totaly +Rep LOVE IT! oh and btw "cant find any program namend wowclient.exe -uptodate"this is not a program you do this by right click > properties on your shortcut of "WoWClient.exe" after you click properties you will see a field named "target:" and where your shorcut leads to just add -uptodate after it. Mine looks like this "D:\WoW Alpha\WoW.Alpha.ANi\WoW\WoWClient.exe" -uptodate . Hope it helped

It doesnt contain the crack needed :yuck: The readme for the server says you need to start wow with the cracked verision
