How to set up a PRIVATE server

If you like to be alone on your server and do whatever the heck you want, then this guide is for you!

Today I am going to show you how to make your own server using my favorite repack: AC Web Ultimate Repack. Now, the newest one (correct me if I'm wrong) is 7.6 unless you're a VIP then theres a 7.7 and possibly a funserver. However, I'm not and don't think it's necessary...What's the rush?

Now, the reason I love these repacks is they require NO SETUP AT ALL. All you have to do is a couple of steps.

Number one: Download the Repack (LOL)
7.6:RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting

2) after that is done, extract it to the selected Drive....C for example.

3) then copy and paste the WoWMapExtractor enUS or enGB depending on where you are loacted into your WoW directory (folder)

4)select extract here

5)then select ad.exe or just ad

6) let that run...should take a good bit of time

7)then...another neat thing about it is it has a control panel that comes with the repack! all you have to do is dbl (double) click on the control panel icon....click "Start All"...then all the server files should start up without a problem.

then go back into your WoW Directory, go to realmlist.wtf and change it to

set realmlist 127.0.0.1

9) then after thats done, go into WoW and log in with username- "admin"
pass-"admin"


AND YOUR DONE! thats it. Just make sure not to mess with any config files because that could damage the files and your server could possibly not work. Congratulations! you have built your very own...Private Server

i'm having a problem with the very end i belive i get all the way to the U.n. admin P.w. admin then it starts to "handshake" but never stops then after about 3mins it says can not connect to server or something like that.... and on the ascent black box at the bottom it says.... LogonCommClient: Logonserver latency is 0ms idk if that has anything to do with anything but if anyone could help that would be freaking great thanks!!

0ms means nothing but im not sure why your getting that problem.....did you set realmlist 2 127.0.0.1?

yes i tryed with "set realmlist 127.0.0.1" and also just plan "127.0.0.1".... Also i'm not trying to play with other people i just wanted to play by myself... LOL

im not sure if they have made the ascent revision to be compatible with 2.4.1....check
AC-web.org for the newest ascent compiles though

i made the server and everything like that and i logged in with admin admin but everytime i try a GM command it says i don't have access to that command!!!!! also can i take this server and make it public?

When I try to log in using admin/admin I get a message says, "unable to validate game version." Any ideas why this won't work?

I get the handshaking error. Also, to reply to the one kids post, all u have to do to get GM powers is

1. Open MySQL
2. Open Navicat or SQLYog (Whatever one u have)
3. open the host (localhost username: root pass: ascent) and click Logon.
4. click accounts and where u see GM put a 3
