Well usually I get repacks with MySql already installed in it so I was just wondering how to get MySql :P

I don't know what ascent repack you've been using but you also need to import the databases and you can do that easily with a tool included in the repack. Then you can just extract maps & DBC and edit config files and you're done.

the repack i used before had databases loaded already

i installed my MYsql into my Wow folder previously so i dont have that path that is in the databaseimporter.

when i try to extract to that folder it says "the system cannot fiond the path specified...

im assuming i want to change it to go into my wow folder where i have my mysql in?

i used 711's Mangos 2.4.2 repack will this have conflicts?

Yes change it to the folder where you installed MySQL. If it was in your wow folder then change it to that.. but the default install path is "C:\Program files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\"

What're the odds of getting MySQL commands to convert the characters from 2.4.2 to 2.4.3?

The repack works great, and using just the executables and .DLLS works fantastic (especially if you copy the config for the addons onto the pre-existing configs) if you've got a server already.

I'm unfamiliar with MySQL, but I can safely say the first SQL error with trying to load old characters is about line 54 of a SQL dump (character_pet no longer has a "commandstate" column). I'll see what I can do to help.

The structure for accounts didn't change I don't think in 2.4.3 yet. You shouldn't have any problems just use the same accounts database as your new repacks.

This is from the console when using the old database. Trying to import the old characters from an SQL dump gives error about importing character_pet (and then stops there, refusing to import anything further).

One more error... I'm restoring characters using individual lines from the SQL dump.

That's in the characters.characters database... After restoring a MySQL dump line by line, piece by piece, that's the ONLY error that's shown up, aside from the first one.

Having loaded all the other lines (meaning, characters are restored, as much as can be given the inability to execute some lines because of errors), I can safely say that the characters.characters and characters.character_pet tables are the only ones that have changed.

Hey Dythzer do you have a guide for setting up a mangos server with a full MySql?

i think i messed something up by using the other guide with the one button MySql...

it all had the same freaking localhost and root as user/password so now the new mysql wasnt recognizing and instead of changing all of the names from localhost id rather just start over with a good guide from you! if thats not too much to ask
