    Wrathnilla 2.0 Repack [SylCore] (customized pure solo, no bots)

    Hello everyone. I have been working on this repack for years at this point, and I feel that I have created a somewhat unique experience of the solo-oriented Vanilla enthusiast that does not involve bots or nerfed content. If that sounds interesting to you, please read on.

    As far as the ingame world goes, I’ve always been an enormous fan of Vanilla. Later content seemed like too much of an amusement park. However, those expanded talent trees, spells and so on are too good to pass up on. I decided to mod an experience that, as I see it, combines what I feel is best about the early life stage of WoW.

    Special thanks to Sylian for everything he's done to help me make a new Wrathnilla, to Brimstone for getting me into modding, and to the missus for putting up my obsessive modding effort.

    WHAT THIS REPACK OFFERS:

    A thorougly overhauled and curated Vanilla dungeon experience (currently up to level 40) for the solo player

    Extreme class, talent and spell changes which will allow you much more freedom in deciding how you want to play your character (Holy Priest dps, melee Hunter, etc)

    Just plug and play - no difficulty tweaking or pre-play setup of any kind needed

    A free experience through and through - donations are very welcome but are not required, everything is available for free

    Content restored to pre Burning Crusade status - for example, abominations once again guard Undercity

    Many edits to professions, from lowering mat requirements to enhancing existing items and adding new ones to help players tackle PvE

    Customized AHbot (only sells vanilla-appropriate items)


    HOW CORE GAMEPLAY DIFFERS FROM UN-MODDED:

    The MMO trinity of healer/tank/dps has no place in a single player, duo or casual trio setting. This overhaul addresses the issue by converting all healing and tanking builds into damage dealing ones with various support and defense mechanics. The original damage-dealers have had their survivability increased considerably. Paired with a minion pet, each individual player becomes a self-contained trinity.

    You will not be able to tank as before. No class is equipped to deal with continuous boss damage after their pet dies. Rely on your pet and keep it alive. To play effectively, you will need to get used to moving your pet around and keeping it's healing ability up.

    You will not be able to heal as before. Those spells have had their mana cost greatly increased and most of them have long, linked cooldowns. Rely on consumables.

    I cannot put enough emphasis on the consumables and crafted items. Get them and use them or you will probably fail.

    Also... the solution to every problem isn't combat. Just to most of them. Cryptic hint over.

    This script will reduce the damage mobs and bosses in dungeons deal by 15%. To implement it, simply put it into your server's lua_scripts folder.

    This script will greatly reduce the threat the player generates, thereby reducing the amount of target-swapping your pet needs to do during combat in order to keep aggro during multi-target encounters.


    SETTING UP YOUR CLIENT:
    note: you must use a clean, never-before-modded client, otherwise you will run into issues.
    If you're reusing the client you used for 1.1, remove patch-6.mpq

    1.) download the Wrathnilla 2.0 Client Patch.zip

    2.) extract the contents into your WoW game folder

    3.) locate the realmlist.wtf text file in your Data/enUS folder and open it, make sure it says "set realmlist 127.0.0.1" (no quotation marks)

    4.) if you want to play with friends, change "127.0.0.1" to whatever network you're playing through, I highly recommend using ZeroTierOne


    APPLYING UPDATES TO THE CLIENT:

    1.) download the latest patch

    2.) make sure your client is OFF when patching

    3.) extract the contents of the "FOR CLIENT" folder into your client and allow all overwrites


    SETTING UP YOUR SERVER:

    1.) download Wrathnilla 2.0 Repack.zip and extract it wherever you want

    2.) first you need to update a line in one of the config files. These are text files located in your server's "config" folder. Find "worldserver.conf" and open it, then search for "DataDir". You will see a folder address - overwrite it with your own. You only need to do this once unless you decide to move the repack.

    3.) run start_mysql.bat and wait a moment for it to finish

    4.) run authserver.exe and wait a moment for it to finish

    5.) run worldserver.exe and wait for it to finish (this will take longer than the previous two)
    note: you will see some red errors in the worldserver window - these are about the currently inaccessible content that I need to work on, don't worry

    6.) in the worldserver.exe window, type ".account create (name) (password)" (no quotation marks), this creates an account

    7.) type ".account set gmlevel (name) 3 -1" [no quotation marks], this will give you access to GM commands should you need them

    8.) to turn the server off, click the server windows and press ctrl-c on each in this order: worldserver, authserver, database

    9.) when asked to confirm in the database window, type Y and press enter


    APPLYING UPDATES TO THE SERVER:
    note: the Latest Patch includes all the changes introduced by previous patches, you do not need older ones

    1.) make sure your server is OFF when patching

    2.) extract the contents of the "FOR SERVER" folder into your repack and allow all overwrites

    Hello again everyone, I have updated the original post a bit and added a Latest Patch download link. This one will include an updated gameplay.conf file (because I horrendously misjudged the reputation modifier), so keep the overwrite in mind if you've made your own changes to it. All I did was set the reputation modifier to 1. This will also be the only patch including this, as I have updated the repack links with the new .conf file, so no need to be concerned about this becoming a regular thing you need to watch out for.

    An overview of the latest patch:
    - reputation gain reverted to original value
    - debuff duration reducing talents (such as Toughness) reverted back to original values
    - part of new optional lua script
    - a few profession-related changes
    - Exorcism nerf and a few Paladin talent tweaks

    A detailed list of changes is available in the .zip file.

    I will do my best to keep these patches coming regularly. I feel that the classes are well balanced currently, but there is always room for improvement. Besides - class work is my favorite part of modding by far.

    I have also added a link to an new optional lua script, dont-mind-me.lua. This script will greatly reduce the threat the player generates, thereby reducing the amount of target-swapping your pet needs to do during combat in order to keep aggro during multi-target encounters.

    I am also happy to report that only two bugs have been found so far, and neither of them are too bad. Defias Watchers and Defias Taskmasters in the Deadmines occasionally act odd and refuse to engage in melee combat properly. This will be corrected in version 2.1.

    Regarding version 2.1, work on that begins in September after I and others have had time to playtest the current version some more. 2.1 will raise the level cap to 50, include an overhauled Zul'Farrak, Maraudon and Sunken Temple, and will feature some changes to the overworld rare spawns (namely new movesets, better loot and a difficulty increase). A hardcore mode has been requested as well and will most likely also be making an appearance.
