You cannot do it for items that require rep, as those items also require rep to wear. Therefor, no.

If you drag the items to the icon of your bag and then drop it you can also buy things that require honor, arena points, marks of honor, etc. for free. It might also be useful for tier 6 because it requires those items that drop from hyjal and other raids.
