Yet another "How much players can my server hold?"

Hi there! You're probably tired of all the "How many players ..." threads, but I really need to know and I don't have the time to look through all these threads and find a PC and bandwith similar as mine!
    Here's the PC speccs:

    2.5GB RAM
    2.2GHz CPU
about 75GB free HDD to use

Bandwith: about 5mB/s up, I think. (Can't know for sure 'cus rigt now I only have about 500kB/s up, but 5mB/s is when I make my server public)

And I'm sorry for yet another one of these threads! +rep to best answer.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the CPU is single core, but the only things that'l be running is ascent-logon.exe, ascent-world.exe and usual Windows XP stuff (If I don't install either Linux or Windows Server)

    Educated guesses

    MaNGOS (with lag): 700-950
    Ludmilla (lag): 100-300
    Ascent (MUCH lag): 1000-1200

    MaNGOS (no lag): 700-750
    Ludmilla (no lag): 50-150
    Ascent (no lag): 700ish

Restarter advised if you do above

    It'll run fine.

The biggest things are Ram and Bandwidth.

You've got enough ram to run a pretty good system, would be better in linux than windows, obviously.

And, bandwidth... 500kB/s is pretty good, 5mB/s will be more than enough to host a fairly active server. I'd guess 500ish people without issue.

Single core processor shouldn't be an issue, the server isn't very cpu intensive.

(This is purely for Ascent, I don't use Mangos)

I think I'm gonna go for 600. I was starting to get tired of wating for the stuff I need to host the server but when I saw this, I got excited again! It just didn't sound so fun hosting a server with about 80 players, but with a lot of players it sound much more fun!
    Edit: 550 sounds fair
