[Help!] Character items dissapear after logging out

I upgraded my pc from XP to Vista and every time I log onto my server i lose my items when i log out, but the items are still in my Playeritems table. This didn't happen when I had XP. When i login i can see my character's armor and weapons at the character selection part. When i go onto the character, the character's naked. If i add items and then logout they are gone. I also get this when i make a new character so its not the character thats bugged. I have tried other DBs and I still get the same problem.

So basically I have my items but they are invisible.

I am using Ascent 2.8 Stable and Knaur's Norwegian DB v4.
Edit: I get the same problem with Project Silvermoon with Ascent 3336.

    +Rep If you solve this

why on earth did you trade XP for vista!!!!!!!

anyway you may need a vista patch for your db editor (navicat etc..), your cache might need a clean or it could be another crap vista fault

You need a new character database, an updated one mate, it is nothing to do with vista.

Why would I need a new character DB if it used to work? I have tried other DBs and i get the same problem.

Try typing the command .saveall when you get new items. I'm not sure if this will work but it's worth a try.

I don't think my graphics card can handle directx10 lol and I've already tried to delete the cache folder. I've done just about everything but nothing works.

It would help if you open ascent.conf in your notepad, find line "Save="XXXX""" and change it to "Save="30""

First thing that pops into mind username99 is the item limit. I remember that Norwegian DB has some fairly high item numbers and you mentioned that you are using 2.8 stable, do you know off hand if the ascent core has had the item limit increased before it was compiled?

Its your database along with your revision. A table may be slightly out or slightly wrong to cause that.. revisions require certain tables for them to work properly. as mine for example. I'm using latest NCDB + 3700+ revision and my players quest disapear on relog (i'm not bothered to fix it yet) the reason relies in the quest table setting its self. so try getting another database to match your revision OR get a revision to match your database.
