[Release + Info] Withering of Ragefire 1.0

    The Withering of Ragefire v1.0

    Brief Description
The Withering of Ragefire is an epic instance remake, complete with .LUA scripts, item sets, multiple bosses, an expanding quest line that will continue with a future release, as well as many new mobs and exciting npcs.
This project has now been completed, and is being shared EXCLUSIVELY to MMOwned Users. Please note that this entire project is under a Creative Commons license. You are allowed to modify it in any way, and then use the modified creation, as well as use the original creation. You cannot, however, re-release this in any form of a repack or likewise, without a direct link back to THIS thread, as well as permission from the original poster, Hellgawd. You may NOT distribute this anywhere but MMOwned, if you are caught I will contact the forum administrator of the distributed forum and get them to give you a ban.
The Withering of Ragefire is designed, planned out, created, scripted, and released by the WoWLegends Development team, consisting of 2 people. Hellgawd and Kourne. We are the only two people licensed under our Creative Commons license to distribute this release. You can test this release over at the WoW-Legends private server. (WoW Legends - Home)
Well, enough of the fluff. Lets get on, shall we?

The Instance, The Story, And Screenies!
Here is the full story behind the instance, as well as some wonderful screenshots. =] I hope you enjoy!
Images are now all uploaded! Sorry for the crappy image hoster, as well as no thumbnails. It reserved bandwidth, and was quick. =]

The release comes with 3 different item sets, that will drop from various bosses throughout the instance. Here is the TANK item set.
Please click the following link to view. =] [ CLIX ]

Outside of the instance is the Cleft of Shadow, that used to be home to a variety of orc and troll warlocks and rogues, before the plague hit the Cleft. Now, this is the remains.

The Scourge entered the Ragefire Chasm through a dimensional rift, one that is unlike any ever seen in Azeroth before. Most likely the Lich King himself is creating the rifts. The Scourge has taken over all of the residents of the chasm, and has created many more minions of undeath.

After the Scourge took hold of the cavern, some new beasts rose up from the Ragefire lava and now call it their home. They are very powerful, and will kill anything and everything within their sight. Somehow they have a secret alliance with the Scourge, although none know why nor how.

[color=yellow]Every sentient being that was anywhere near the Ragefire Chasm at the time of infection was consumed by this new deadly plague. It splits your body and mind into two, slowly tearing away at the remainder of your old self, until you are completely consumed. Colonel Gorespear, one of the last consumed orcs, stands beside his plagued counterpart to tell his story. A quest will be available from this person in a LATER TEAM RELEASE, so he is a very important orc indeed.

Everyone should feel sorry for the poor Orgrimmar Warhounds that were down patrolling in the Cleft of Shadow when it was consumed. They have been turned into mutant, plague-rotting beasts.
    FreeImageHosting.net Hosting Service

Remember the Shadow Council? It too was consumed by the plague. The Shadow Council commanders were left unplagued, agreeing to aid the Scourge with their next invasion. One of the Scourge Taskmasters watches over them, ready to destroy them at a moment's notice.
Hey! Don't forget about Jergosh the Invoker. The Scourge let him stay unplagued, for his demonic summoning services.

The Essence of Ragefire Chasm itself has been infected by this new plague, and the cavern is being withered away slowly. Defeat the plagued essence to help slow down the withering of the cavern.
    FreeImageHosting.net Hosting Service

The Infector... the head honcho of this withering, plagued cavern. He was the first to step through the dimensional rift, consuming all nearby it. He then started to give off the aura of plague, infecting all those in Ragefire Chasm, as well as outside of the chasm. He is the one that caused all this trouble - killing him should become the end of it as well.

    F.A.Q.
    How do I install this?
More information on the installation is located further down in this post.

Is there an official repack for this?
No, there is not a repack for this. It has to be added on to an existing server.

Is it a Horde-only instance? An alliance-only instance?
No, it is a both-faction instance. It is located in lower orgrimmar, but there are walls of game objects that prevent access to the rest of orgrimmar. (Entrance via a gnome teleportation machine.)

    DOWNLOAD!
Even though this project is 100% completed, we are awaiting the final bug fixes to be completed so that we do not release a shotty project. As well, we need to get it all zipped up and uploaded to a few different mirriors. We hope to have the download links up by January 1st, 2008.

    Installation Instructions
    Pre-Installation Requirement
Before downloading the release package and continuing with the installation, there are a few things you have to do first. First, make sure you do not have any npcs with the id's ranging from "770001" to "770099". This is the npc id range used for this release. As well, make sure no items are using ids ranging from "5000001" to "5000045", these are the id's used for the item sets.
As this release overwrites a previously existing instance (Ragefire Chasm) as well as some other areas, you have to delete some things BEFORE installing the package to make sure it works flawless. Please remove all NPC's inside the Cleft Of Shadow, Orgrimmar. As well, please remove all NPC's inside the Ragefire Chasm instance, Orgrimmar. There are no SQL queries made to do this, so unless someone designs one for us to put inside our package, we will not provide one. You will have to delete those NPC's manually.

More steps, as well as the download and screenshots, will be up very soon.

    VIDEO! (By Kourney Productions.) ENJOY!

The idea and work is great, but, there are some major... Not bugs, but stuff that is very unlikely.

Where the NPCs are placed. If the scourge did manage to break into Orgrimmar likethat, they would most likely either storm the town, or create a major barrier from the rest of the city. But why would they do that? In one of the last pictures, you have used Dreadlord-like creatures to guard one of the bosses. But, have you taken into consideration that the dreadlords are major demons, they would most likely be bigger, and, out of a guess, more powerful then they are in that DB extention.

But other then that, it looks like GREAT work!
Oh, btw, don't look at this reply as a way to ruin your project or anything, take it as constructive criticism, I love projects like these ^^
FOR A MOMENT, NOTHING HAPPENED. THEN, AFTER A SECOND OR SO, NOTHING CONTINUED TO HAPPEN.

Hehe, thats why I decided to do it. I also decided to do it as my first project, because its a much smaller instance.

Hehe, I love constructive criticism. =D
And, when you are in the game and have installed the release, you will realize how as well as WHY they broke into orgrimmar this way, through the depths of Ragefire Chasm, It is all explained. =]
And now, the Dreadlord guarding the 3 Shadow Council membersi n one of the screenshots, is extremely powerful.
As for the screenshot where there are about 15 mini-dreadlords guarding a single boss, those aren't actually dreadlord creatures. Again, in game you will learn the story. THat is Jergosh the Invoker, who learned to create and summon those mini demons you see there, to protect himself from invaders like yourself. THe Scourge, they taught him how..

Everyone is making instanceS? At the time of the original posting of this, no one was. And i mean NO ONE. Obviously, people have seen my idea and are making their own instances now. ^_^

    Whew, multi-quote ftw!
The SQL making is taking a bit longer than I expected to, as I havent even finished fixing a few errors yet. I will update when i am closer to completion of the install-sqls.
    Cheers,
    Hellgawd
