[Help] Ascent.exe crashes with a strange error

So far I have checked and reinstalled the whole repack/server but I still get to the point where I recieve an error. The error is as following:

Your database is out of date compared to your version of ascent.

What DB and what version of ascent are you using?

I'm using Chrispee's database, but I searched around to see how I could be able to fix the level-not-going-above-70 thing, and ironically enough, I found this

Someone do me a quick check, Ive just been able to set the level cap on Ascent 2694 to 100 in the ascent.conf (both fields) and can set my level to 100 ingame.

Someone please verify, Ive a slightly modified client.

Yeah, the level cap has been removed from the code, but you can still manually set a cap in ascent.conf.

Hrm, Chrispee's database was a while ago, I cant remember what version of ascent will run that, if it doesnt come with ascent itself its going to be hard to track.

I only ever run the latest NCDB and the latest (Albeit modified) version of ascent.

The link in my sig will get you to my latest compiles, but Chrispee's db is quite heavily modified.

Really, if you wanted to run Chrispee's DB, you might have to go as far back as 2.4 stable Ascent.

What fixed this for me was to set.. ummh.. in confs, "change_me_logon" and "change_me_ascent" to same.

Nah, he's not getting an authentication error, it's an out and out crash.

The newer ascent compiles need updated db, as the column structures are different. try updating your database.
