I Want To Learn C++, Where to start?

Alright, so far I could get away with a good server and make a good amount of money. But I dream about making my own little game, although I don't know much about c++. Im only 15, only have basic knowledge of mysql, html and php.

I see c++ scripts and understand them, although If I were to write one from scratch, forget about it.

How did you guys start? Did you go to school for it or did you just pick up a book? I tried reading about c++ although it was too complicated for me, would my best bet at the moment be c++ for dummies?

I read a few books, im still shakey on 3D programming and stuff, I plan on going to school.

Read books and read all the source code you can, the more you read and think about and try to duplicate it w/o having to look at the orginial source is good

Google know's all. I myself googled it and learnd alot about it if you want to ill copy/past a guide and pm it to you with the site i got it from.

I too dream of making my own video game. im 18 and taking college courses for it actually. i've tried using books before but personally i feel taking a C++ class is the best way to go because the hands on experience is helpful. Also if you run into a problem the book doesnt address you have someone there to help with it.

a book on it is good like C++ for dummies but youll be able to understand it more if you like take a class, right now in Highschool I am also 15 and I'm taking a beginning Java class

try something easy before jumping right into C++.. i jumped right into it and i wanted to go emo...

Try a book in 7th grade for me there aren't any classes so I find teaching myself easier

I would have to take like night classes or something. Java also looks cool, I am also inetersted in flash. Runescape made one hell of a game with Java.
