system requirements

I started a server and im goin to use it to play with some friends and avritising a lilbit . i was wonding if a 1.0ghz machine with 256 ram 10k scsi hdd would be ok?. i do plan on getting more ram prob up to 1gb, but anyinfo on this would be great. oh, and this machine is deadicated and web server is on another machine, well.. lol my old laptop, but for basic html/php web site shouldnt take much

Not enough for a fun server :P
My 1.83ghz x2 Core 2 Duo 2GB DDR2 Ram

It lags with server just a lil bit.
But yearh it runs vista and is a laptop

If you plan to have more than 1 person on the server you need quite a bit better system specs. Even then....you're running on a machine with 256k mem? @_@


I use a P4D 3ghz machine with 2gb ddr2 and a sata hdd, and it still lags from time to time.

looks like its time to upgrade to a 2x core and lot more ram.. anyhow, thx guys
