Is it possible for a remote person to connect to DB?

Im trying to have a gm on my test server view my db and such with heidisql, but each time they try to connect, they get...

"SQL Error: Host '5.171.22.175' is not allowed to connect to this mysql server"

help?

i think it is theoretically possible i've never done it myself, but i think using a dynamic dns would allow you to do it easier, and also you have to consider what type of server your using to host your database, and you'll have to set up remote login/sharing as such. so i think its entirely possible to do, it will just take some time to set up.

Check settings in navicat :

Go In the database, click on the database.

Then go to Manage Users tab above.

Click Add User and write down the details.

I think that should do it.

You can enable root access in the sql config wizard but don't add an account in the MYSQL account table (Not the ascent one)
