    Using a host computer

I tried searching six times, I remember seeing this somewhere but couldn't find it. I have two computers and a laptop atm and want to have one computer as a host for my server, but I also want to be able to connect to the DB for edits from my secondary computer for emergencys. Any way to do this?

PS: Im trying to do this because Illidari struck my server while I was away and had nothing but a wireless internet laptop at the time.

    Re: Using a host computer

Set up your server as if your host computer would be the only one connecting to it. Set your secondary computer's realmlist to your host computer's Internal IP.

How to find your Internal IP:

    Click on Start.
    Go to Run...
Type in cmd, and press OK.
Once in the command console, type in ipconfig.
The IP Address it gives you is your Internal IP, usually starting with 192.168.0.#.

I dont see how I can edit the DB, only how to connect to my own server wich isnt exactly a problem as I already can.

    Re: Using a host computer

Ah, I misread, my apologies. You have two options in this regard:

    1. Remote into your laptop and go straight into the DB from there.

    2. Set up a MySQL website on your host computer and use it to edit the DB from your secondary computer.

    Re: Using a host computer

Just go to start then look at this screen shot . . .

Then, skim through all the options and click Next for everything until you reach this page . . .

Just make sure root access is enabled.

Then, on the other computer just connect to the SQL server as you would normally . . . I suggest Navicat, here's the connection info you should enter in . . .

    You're welcome!

You can give more than one person with 1 rep power, and your guide is in progress. I'm sick so I've been working on it off and on.
