Can't unban friend, I run server

So, I'm still new to the whole running server/using it thing. Shorty story, friend was screwing off with GM commands, so I was gonna give him a temp ban for it. Did the .ban Playername, then .killbyplayer (the disconnect). Ok, he was booted, we had a laugh over it, but now I can't get him back in-game. I .unban Playername, and it said he'd been unbanned in the database, his acct doesn't have any ban flags on it (all flags are the same number, if someone was banned it'd be different I assume.), but when I got into the characters table he's got a "4" under banned. I change it to a "0" and save, refresh puts it back at "4". Error message I get when I try to log him in says "Character locked as a result of the character transfer process." or some such. So, I'm at a loss of what to do. I'm not sure what else I need to modify in the DB (that's the SQLyog tables I read right?) and I think i used the appropriate in-game commands. Any help understanding this and resolving it would be appreciated, thanks. (Will search forum further in the meantime and withdraw post if i find it)

Searching forum for past few days, still haven't found an answer. If anyone would take out the time to help I'd appreciate it. Issue, "Character locked as part of the character transfer process." Can't seem to unlock it. Hate to bump a thread but I am still experiencing this issue and haven't yet found a solution.
