Project G Announcement.

Project G

Beginning in November,I will begin on the Creation of a single One database, which will actually be capable of installing itself, checking for database updates, Restarting the Server automatically, and last of all,automatically backing up the account, Gameobject_spawns, Creature_spawns, ect.

First off lets start with the Installation and Database updates. Installer is pretty simple, unpacks repack, installs Mysql with service name "MySQL Project G".

As for the updater, it is a little bit more complex.I haven't Worked out all the Details yet, but the Idea is that the installer will also plant a small file in your Mysql Folder, or possible your MySQL browser. These files will periodically check a set location on the internet which would contain the newest release of the database. The program would then proceed to update and back up the following tables(or their equivalents at time of release):

Gameobject names
Gameobject Spawns
Creature Names
Creature Proto
Creature Spawns
Items

[I've been away from pc a while so if im forgetting any that should be kept with same data and just updated please remind]

After backiing up those updated tables, careful to mantain as much of your custom data as possible, to minimize the burden.
Once those have been prepared, a more up-to-date database would execute itself at the time you selected once every two weeks, the same essentially for the Logon database, except different tables.

The restarter: Again a simple programt that would constantly check if all server programs are running, and start them if not, similar to ecko tools.

Now to access the server Browser and restart tghe server, with one control panel would seem difficult at first glance. here's how I would lay it out, in most simple form

--Mysql folder-- Main control panel, similar to connected echo tools.

The Database.
Fully Developed database which will be installed, alone with your choice of over 90 custom items and sets, The full first time setup will be at an estimated 60-90 minutes. The only real required action by the user would be to create a free DNS host, add it to host files, and fill in the <<<<thingnamehere>>>> in configs to make public.

It will also include a few buildings, any other stuff I come accross. m going to be working on this an hour daily at school when I can,
