    blizzard perm ip ban?

ok so for about a week ive been playing wow on a 1.12 private server (vanillagaming.org) and i keep finding that wow forum admins keep saying that using a private server will result in a blizzard perm ip ban.......now they also say that using them will infect you with vruses, trojans etc etc which as a former black hat hacker i know that is complete bullshit (with the exception of falling victim to social engineering) so i was wondering does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

    u made my day ..

    "Black hat hacker"...
If you were a BLACK HAT HACKER , than you would know that in every executable which isn´t yours could be a trojan.
now blizzard doesn´t get any informations so they won´t ban by IP. It would be useless.
And first rule is always: NEVER TELL ANYONE U ARE BLACKHAT.

Nothing says legit like not being able to spell your job title.

So you know "network hacking" but "not so much when it comes to servers". Yeah, peer to peer is very "black hat" lol...

Okay, I'll leave you alone now, lol....

I have known a few hackers who got IP Banned, so there is some truth there.

As for them having a log to see where you logged in, that is also possible. Years ago, I was banned after I used a game hack on a private server. I didn't close the game, before I changed the server to official. Then I logged in and was banned for using a game hack, even though I hadn't used it on the official servers.

So based on this info, they can read logs, when you update, there is a chance that the logs are sent to them as well, which in turn would allow them to ban your IP.

However since Blizz is money hungry, I highly doubt they will ban you for using a private server, if you have an active subscription to WOW.

It's not bullshit at all. I can stream tons of data to your client and just tell it to extract and run a random executable file. I can even directly stream modules to you in higher patches.

The only thing stopping me doing this is the fact the client has a RSA check to see if the downloaded package is signed by Blizzard. These checks can be removed with a simple edit of the WoW executable. WoW executable modifications have become popular.
