I have no plans to make this a complete non hamachi server I want a small community of active members.
The bigger, not the better.

You won't be able to create a large community through Hamachi. Hamachi is out-dated and only used for people that aren't able to portforward through their router.
My suggestion is to have a connection with a chance to portforward through your route system for the best performance and for a better community.
