MaNGOS ( on-Hold ) !! Cataclysm is coming !

Iv been around mangos enough to do almost anything i want with it .

but the thing that just sucks about mangos is c++ does not support a lot of the things i require to create custom content , right out of the box
And The Leaders of that project keep saying its Educational , and i know thats just bull.
it just started to support GOGossipHello and GOGossipSelect
after a LONG time ,
and Implanted SoapSystem is just fukin Awesome
its slowly going down , while the community is large .

i can create all these things myself but i just hate that they do not add these things , and they keep implanting spell effects.

till now MaNGOS does not support Multi-Threading .

i have to mod my version of mangos to make it Multi-threaded .
spent a long time on it.

but for the last month iv hardly found the time to do anything ,


My Discussion is ,

why the hell do they keep holding mangos from becoming a very powerful emulator . ?

Why don't they just Focus on 1 Thing rather then A lot of People keep working on a lot of different C++ mods ?

MaNGOS is a great emu, IMO its the best one around, but yeah the devs can be doing a lot better. The thing I like about them is their project is written very professionally compared to the many ascent based emus (compare the time spent fixing crashes/crappy code between mangos and any other emu). Their team is very good, but yes they are slow when it comes to major patches/multithreading; thats the whole reason trinitycore started.

As for your questions -

1) I think that MaNGOS needs more developers and more unity between projects like UDB and ScriptDev2 to become more powerful. Another big problem is that it's hard for new developers to work on MaNGOS due to their lack of documentation..it takes forever to learn how a massive project like theirs works.

2) I'm guessing the devs don't like working on some things so everyone picks a part of the core they know best and works on it

3) Hopefully the emu im working on will be good enough for me to use I've added a lot to its core in the last few weeks(It's already multi-threaded, unlike a certain emulator..)

1. People work on what they want to work on, not what you want them to work on.

2. MaNGOS stuff actually works, which is why they're usually behind. They spend time on old things rather than making their emulator worse and worse to keep up with the latest patch.

Interesting Xees, I agree with you as well. I amazingly enough started using MaNGOS yesterday - and I love it, it's like a whole new emulation community. People are helpful towards each other and they all focus on progression, I also love that there is so many patches available to customize it. MaNGOS is truly great, but I really hope the money doesn't go to charity, because people who donate to MaNGOS does not donate for charity they donate for the project.

Because mangos is slightly harder to use than ascent, ascent get all the noobs and because of it get put under a lot of pressure, while also having to provide for the men-... young...
