there is a way to edit the news channel on the login screen in the game so a server can post thier news instead of blizzards does anyone know how to do that or have a link plz

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Yes, but it involves editing your player's hosts file, which is a bad idea.

first add this line your hosts file, need to redirect a url.
replace the loopback with whatever ip you want...

if you have a webserver setup create a /alert/ dir

create a text file with SERVERALERT: at the top, like...

next time you start the client it will look like.. what i posted above


it will mess with the launcher because the launcher uses the url
but now you can use the launcher to display whatever html you want..

reminder that everyone who wants to see the news must set their realmlist accordingly
