WOTLK Opinions

Greetings everyone.

I just wanted to make a thread to ask you all personally your opinion on WOTLK. I am not sure after all the years of wow if I want to pursue it anymore.

That is on live, its all to much work and takes from time I could do better things.

So my question is, is WOTLK any good at all on private servers at the moment? Or is it all just a bunch of over rushed hype?

Again, this isnt a question, just peoples opinions.

Well currently the private servers I tried sucked all except wowtorn (not trying to advertise >.>) And I am currently playing WOTLK on localhost and its pretty good im not even into doing quest and raiding I'm mainly PVP but WOTLK to me is a new experience to doing questing and raids etc il rate it a 4.5/5

imo Wotlk really made WoW fun again, it was amazingly fun originally, BC toned down the fun, and now its funner then the original imo.

Thanks for the comments, I am still undecided. From all videos it looks like they stopped developing into the fancy races (like in BC) and devoted time into new content, story, and etc.

Also, to become a death knight you must have a 55 on that server, correct?

Correct you are Aelus, and I agree with Greed - I loved wow, but TBC ruined it for me. However, I now want to start playing the WOTLK content, it looks great; but I can't bear to level through the agony of what is the Outlands to get there. :/
So, I play it on private servers isntead - most of which are crap, I would personally recomend Greed's Private Server, HeroicWoW, or a really fancy one called WoWTorn. (Not trying to advertise either.)

Kamicalwow have's a lot of WotLK working, and WotLK killed PvE...also PvP.....
BC have good PvP arena system but in WotLK it is not wow anymore but more like battlefield, PvE is now 2 easy for any raiding it will gets boring fast...

@ Hellgawd: Yeah from all responses i've got i've heard it brings the fun back. Its not aimed to please the PvE. Its more of aimed to be a entire MMORPG. You actually interact and need the use of other players and PvE isnt the biggest goal.

@ AzolexX: I like the whole battlefield idea, and I hopefully look forward to seeing more hero classes in the future introduced. Like a oppsiote of Death Knight who goes for good and has a big brawl. Although normal classes look killed now unless you're a die hard fan.

And yes, I did play WoW before it went online.

WOTLK is based more on story than boring TBC which only appeals to the no life-hard core gamers which I don't classify myself in. (The kind such as Athene). So I hear atleast.

I liked the spaceyness of TBC, though it was very much out of place in the Warcraft universe. WotLK is very much worth getting into - I'm leveling alts just to go through the quests in Northrend again. And I get bored really fast unless the quests are extremely fun. That's how good it is.(imo)

As for private servers, only one I've tried was a local one over 2 years ago so I really have no idea what the situation is atm.

Also, Outland leveling is much faster nowadays and as of next patch you can create 1 death knight on any server as long as a character on the same account has reached level 55 if I understand correctly.

I play on a PvP Server, and have ever since about 2 months before TBC came out. I have to say... WotLK is the best thing that ever happened to WoW

The questlines, the lore, the scenery, everything is 100x better than TBC, and I mean it. I LOVE Northrend and everything Blizzard has done in the new Expansion.

LORE is not better rofl, we all know Lich King from War3, how much do we know abour draenor? Answer is a lot more if you readed RPG books and Comics of Warcraft, so actually WotLK have bad lore....And only questing in WotLK is good for me, PvP is so bad and PvE is really fun and interesting when you first start to raid, 1 week after clean up you will get bored. DK's are owerpowered. End, WotLK is shit, i still play it, i am stupid, we are stupid.

Vanilla WoW didn't even have Maraudon when it first launched. Give it time
As for the PvP...dunno...Alliance on my server seem to suck worse than ever before so can't really judge :S
Overall it's a huge improvement in how fun the game is for players methinks. Blizzard seem to be learning^^

WOTLK is entertaining and will keep people hooked. That's what it's supposed to do
