I need help with a private server...

Hey everyone!

I am looking into hosting my own WoW Server. What is the maximum amount of players you can run on a 256kbps upload? I probably wouldn't want more than around 50 people in my server since its only for friends.

Well you should be able to have around 30 people top. But to know for sure just let them connect and see if it lags.

My comp is up to date. Its running a Q9300 with 4GB of DDR3 along with some other good components.

Also I was wondering.. Where can I get Mangos and is it better than Ascent?

MaNGOS is NOT better than Ascent. It's less stable and still has some major bugs. Though you still can download it if you want to. MaNGOS is on Sourceforge (SourceForge.net: MaNGOS).

um with 4gig you should be good to have up to like 200 players(dam i wish i had your comp lol)

That's just bullshit. Learn to setup MaNGOS properly and then tell me one "major" bug...
