Dedicated Server?

Can anyone suggest a good dedicated server to use temporarily for my server? Mabye under 50$ or something

$30 or $50 for the cheapest... not bad.

I would recommend you Softlayer for their outstanding customer support, and service.

SoftLayer Technologies, Inc.

Their cheapest package is like, $150 which is 15 $10 donations if you can manage that.

Remember, a cheap host is not always the best because when your server starts to grow, you might be locked into a contract with a bad host, ect.

@ SectorSeven, those boxes aren't to powerful which could lead to problems if running Ascent, or even MaNGOS.

You'll need at least a gig or ram if you want Ascent to even run properly =)
Its a hog, I know.

Also, if you can afford it get the 100mbps port, it should be another 8 or maybe 10 a month, but well worth the speed.

Edit: Also! With most hosts they require you pay extra for an os reload - changing the OS, or even rebooting the server!
With Softlayer you can do that all for free

With ServerPronto they make you pay another $30 per restart, which is not good.

Well, any server for under $50 wont support anything.
If Windows crashes, you'll be stuck because it'll cost you money to restart it with these cheap hosts. Or if you're using nix, you'll have a hell of a time restarting it when its offline =D

Most servers will charge you for a month's service, so you cant really buy one for only a week, lol.

If you need a good setup guide on how to setup ArcEmu, if you're using it that is. I'll reply with one =)

Well, if you wanted to host one locally, you could just host it on your computer and have people connect, if it was only for 2 weeks.

Another alternative is to buy game server hosting from a company that well sells game servers, like mine :-D
