Well I am not clear on what your saying ... If your friend does not have a router and connects direclty into the modem box.. Then yes he can make a server public by just running it out of the box. If he has a router he needs to go into the admin panel. It is done very easily by looking at your routers Model# and googling it and finding out the default password. Go to port forwarding ... Add or something similair... Put in the name of app or abbrv and put in the ports.. It will probably ask you for an ip like 192.168.1.XXX.. To find out your localip Open up start menu click run type in CMD then type ipconfig IPv4 address or something similair and just make sure it matches whats inside the router setting.
Well i do not neither understand what i explained lolxD
He might have a router without pass... or he have modem, well i just try and see.
The reasons why it's so hard to get a server public, is beacuse of the router.
If you don't have a router, it's easy as hell, but, as secure as a chicken will hit a elephant
:O xD Lol true xD
i had a modem when i first started and i didnt need to open any ports but soon as i got on my router thats when i started getting problems.
